Busy week for CACC junior teams

U15 report

On Friday 7th June the U15A side took on Ballymena.

Cliftonville Academy won the toss and asked Ballymena to bat first. Olly Scott started well, bowling briskly and was unlucky not to pick up a wicket. Daniel Bolton took the first wicket in the 6th over, however some wayward bowling (23 wides) and several dropped catches allowed Ballymena to reach a flattering 116 for 3 at the close. Conor Gillam and Adam Gooderham took the other wickets.

CACC needed over 5 runs an over in reply. Harvey Latham and Olly Smith started well putting 13 on for the first wicket. Olly Scott top scored with 17 but no other batsman managed to reach double figures. The Ballymena bowlers didn’t have to work particularly hard for their wickets as there were 5 run outs in the CACC innings. The host side eventually finished on 76 for 7 at the close. Ballymena won the game by 40 runs.
